About this game

You are the architect of the Trajectasphere — a five-trillion-dollar vacuum gun bolted to the Pacific seafloor, welded together from two hundred derelict hulls and ninety percent of the world's structural titanium. Its inner floors are city-sized, and you lease them by altitude: foundries at the waterline, research institutes mid-stack, server farms at the top where the seawater cooling and the lack of jurisdiction are worth a fortune. Finish it, make it pay, then build the second one on the Moon.

Opening scenario

The First Order

Groundbreaking week, Y1 Q1: the first bulk order for ships is sitting on your desk unsigned, and the moment it touches the wires the price of every remaining tonne of titanium on Earth begins to climb.

Where you start

Your setup

Groundbreaking week. Y1 Q1. [YOUR NAME] has held the program architect title for eleven days and has not yet spent a dollar at scale.

The office is a prefabricated block on reclaimed reef at the edge of the barrel yard, Manihiki Plateau, 10°S. Warm rain on a steel roof, floodlights over the cutting sheds, six dead ships riding at anchor in a rough ring offshore — five bulk carriers and one gutted tanker, bought cheap, waiting to be cut up and rerolled into plate. One hundred and ninety-four more are needed. On the desk: the first bulk order for ships, unsigned, and a phone with two lines lit. This office is where the whole program happens; [YOUR NAME] does not travel, and everything distant arrives here by call, fax and courier.

Present, waiting outside the door:

Ben — seabed geology, Norwegian, late fifties, boots still wet. He was a marine mechanic for twelve years before he ever read a rock, and he never stopped being one; there is a stripped-down pump housing on the bench behind him that he fixed himself last night rather than wait nine days for a contractor. He built the chart table in this office out of scrap timber, and he whittles when he is thinking. He is carrying an unpublished survey of the limestone shelf the breech is meant to sit on. Nobody senior has read it. He will not shade a number for anyone.

Oyelaran — procurement, immaculate, already three calls deep this morning. He has a price list, a broker in Yekaterinburg who keeps calling him directly, and an entirely open ambition to hold [YOUR NAME]'s job inside five years. He is very good, and he knows it.

Titanium sits at 100.0. It has never moved, because no order of consequence has ever hit the market. The Cook Islands seabed permit has been pending in Avarua for nine months with no date set. Board support is comfortable but untested — Marguerite Osei's first quarterly review is coming.

Nothing has been explained to [YOUR NAME] yet: not the panel, not the clock, not the documents, not what the two people outside can actually do. That briefing happens first, in three gated steps, before the order is signed.
